The key to healthy chickens lies in people, processes, and consistency in both. It's essential to have caring individuals. When hiring for our farm, the primary quality we seek is someone who genuinely cares, someone who is dedicated to their work and the well-being of animals. Our processes are well-defined but adaptable. We train our staff on these processes and regularly monitor compliance. We also encourage feedback from our team, allowing our processes to improve over time.

A crucial process for achieving low mortality rates, higher average live weight, and healthy chickens is a "daily" cleaning routine. While most chicken houses might clean weekly, at Ros Cole Farms, we clean daily. Our expenses are higher than others, but we prioritize the quality and health of our chickens. Quality is our top priority and quality comes before profit.

Biosecurity is another critical aspect at the farm. We have a check-in and check-out process and restrict access to certain areas. This is not just about physical security; it's about safeguarding the health of our animals. We have a tire bath for vehicles entering the farm and foot baths for entering and exiting designated areas. Our team also wears uniforms to clearly identify themselves to visitors. Our Chief Security Officer is Miko Ros-Cole. She has a background in Australian Shepherd Barkology and regularly poses for pictures as seen below!

Our farm is the center of our existence, reflected in our community and methods. More to come about our operation in future articles.
